When I was still in my teens, watching anime was my pasttime. I used to watch series of animes non-stop without even minding the hours of sleep that I’ll be missing just as long as I finish them. I even studied Nihonggo (Japanese) just to understand these animes without the need to read the subtitles, but since the curriculum only offered basic Japanese, I only got to learn a few lines here and there, but wasn’t really able to learn the entirety of the language. Nevertheless, I still went on and tried to learn the language myself.

In case you are wondering why I’d rather watch animes in Japanese and have subtitles in English is because the voice acting is way better compared to English dubbed. Personally, I have this belief that since these animes were originally made in Japanese language, then it’s just appropriate to watch them in the said language and just use subtitles to understand them. It gives me more pleasure watching them in Japanese, but don’t get me wrong. I enjoy watching animes that are dubbed in English as well, just as long as they justify the voice acting.

Thanks to some of my friends, I’m now officially addicted to watching animes again after 4 long years of hibernating (reason: became a mom and I had to set priorities). Would you believe that even though I loved watching animes before, I never really got the chance to watch Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) because it was overhyped? Yeah, I’m not really fund of watching animes that are overly popular, so I’m watching it now thanks to my kumpare who lent me his DVDs. In just less than a week, I’m almost done with the first DVD, which means that I barely get enough sleep, but it’s all good.

I’ve downloaded Macross Frontier as well, and will be watching all 25 episodes right after Samurai X.

I know I didn’t make any blog post about this 2012’s goals but I did put them down into writing on my personal journal, and one of my goals for this year is to travel. Probably not quite as much as last year, but I do already have plans to travel with my daughter plus some friends anytime soon locally. There are a lot of deals online and I’m seriously tempted to grab the opportunities, however, as early as now, I’m already saving up for my daughter’s tuition fee, so I’m sort of putting off the travel to most likely during summer vacation.

I fear quite a lot of things, although I cannot say that it’s a severe case of phobia, I do tend to get scared of pretty much a tons of things. Actually, it’s not just the lightning that scares the bejesus out of me, it’s more on the sudden flashing lights. For one, I have a hard time plugging in a cord to an outlet because I fear that a spark would come out, although that’s something that I can still handle, however, things like a welding rod can make me cross to the other side of the road. One of the things that I’ve always yearned for is to have a nice wedding.
