My Mom’s Parenting Style and I
This month is all about moms. To be honest, I never wanted to be one yet, and it was unfortunate for me to be one of the products of early pregnancy. Now that my daughter is turning 4 and is about to go to school, I know my responsibilities are going to be more difficult.

For this week’s question: “What are the aspects of your own mum’s parenting style you’d want to adapt?”
In all honesty, when I was a kid, I always told myself that I would NEVER be like my mom. She’d scold me even though it was not my fault, and I never heard her tell me that she loves me. But when I became a mom myself, I realized all the hardships that she went through and she was one of the first people who helped me cope up with motherhood.
My mom’s parenting style is actually “old-fashioned”. She gets mad when I come home after 5pm, and she doesn’t want me to go out. But now, she’s getting used to it since most of her friends already realized that it’s different nowadays. I guess her parenting style isn’t really something that I wish to adapt since it doesn’t really fit today’s generation, but more of her way of dealing life. She may not be perfect, as no one is, but I certanly want to adapt her being hardworking. No matter how difficult life was, she stood up and looked for ways to tackle life’s challenges. She never sulked whenever there were problems that would arise, and she always had her composure despite how things were. I, on the other hand, would sulk and could barely move whenever a problem would hit me. I get stuck and would need someone to press the “un-pause” button just for me to continue. I’m scared that this might cause a problem for me and my daughter, but no matter what, I will make sure that I will be the best mom for my daughter.

i hear you there sis, sometimes when something comes up I tend to be catatonic + had to pause a while to process everything that is going on! hopefully a few years from now we’ll get the hang of it + become the best moms our children will ever have!cheers!
